Is there a minimum amount for the gift certificate?
While we don’t have minimum amount that must be purchased, for practical purposes, a Travelpath Travel Gift Certificate should be large enough that the recipient can actually redeem the certificate for something of travel value. If the amount is too low, it many never get used, which would not be good value for your as the purchaser. As a minimum we have that amounts of at least $250 are advisable.
Do Travelpath Gift Certificates expire?
Travelpath Travel Gift Certificates generally do not expire, however, as travel costs tend to increase year-over-year, their value (especially for smaller amounts under $1,000) may be lessened over time due to inflation. Travelpath Travel Gift Certificates make the most sense for individuals who you know enjoy traveling.
Can I send a digital copy of a travel gift certificate?
Yes. While we create a paper (physical) gift certificate that can be gifted, we can also make a digital copy of the gift certificate that you can send to the recipient. This is great in quick turnaround situations or for last-minute gift giving. We can also provide some accompanying informational text for you to send along with the certificate.
What types of travel can be booked?
Travelpath Travel Gift Certificates are treated like cash at Travelpath. They can be use for most kinds of travel, from complete vacation packages that we book with a travel supplier, or for a la carte travel items, such as air fare, hotels and more. The only stipulation is that these travel gift certificates are issued by Travelpath Vacations, so they must be used for travel bookings by a Travelpath Vacation Advisor.
Does the entire amount of the gift certificate have to be used at once?
No. In the case of very large gift certificate amounts (for example a $25,000 Travelpath Travel Gift Certificate), a traveller may not use the entire amount on one vacation. We keep track of the amount used for each booking and the remaining balance may be used towards the booking of future travel with Travelpath.
Are the travel gift certificates transferable?
Generally speaking, no. Travelpath Travel Gift Certificates must be used by the individual whose name appears on the certificate. Having said that, however, we also know that unique situations can occur where the recipient may not be in a position to redeem/use the certificate themselves. In those cases, we encourage you to reach out to us and we will work with you to find a solution.
Can the gift certificate be used to cover the travel of other travellers in my group?
